Crossroads Kearney is grateful for help from Great Western Bank!
Employees of Great Western Bankin Kearney, led by Branch Manager Christopher Browne, helped us in our remodeling efforts on our Kearney campus recently. Renovations will make way for us to offer Transitional Housing as a service at our Kearney shelter location. Transitional Housing allows our guests to progress toward independence while their support services are still close-by.
Willing Servants bless Kearney Crossroads!
Several churches in Wilcox came together to work at Kearney Crossroads last week. What a blessing to have help with painting and removing carpeting, as we remodel the building that will serve our Transitional Housing needs! They call themselves the Willing Servants! We were so happy to have these hard workers help us out!
Jean’s Angels send 50 Care Bags to 50 States!
Our Kearney Crossroads Mission Avenue shelter was chosen by Jean’s Angels to receive a donation of 50 care bags filled with hygiene items for our guests. They are sending 50 care bags out to one location in each of the 50 US States – a wonderful goal! Thank you so much for sharing with our Kearney shelter! Realtors of Greater Mid-Nebraska donate to Kearney Shelter!
A hearty thank you goes out to Tim Norwood for putting a fundraising challenge out to the Kearney Realtors, and we give sincere thanks to the Realtors of Greater Mid-Nebraska for stepping up and answering that challenge! Their efforts will benefit Buffalo County as the needed Transitional Housing project at Kearney Crossroads Mission Avenue becomes a reality! Renovations are underway on the Kearney Crossroads campus, to provide an option of transitional housing for our guests as they progress through our 4-Phase Recovery program and prepare to move out of the emergency shelter. Transitional housing provides a step toward independence and self-sufficiency for our guests while they still have their support system close-by. Thank you for your support!

We are in the process of replacing our old worn out beds at each of our shelters, with new bed frames made of rugged metal to withstand rigorous use, and mattresses with an easy-to-clean waterproof, antibacterial surface. In 2020 alone, Crossroads Mission Avenue provided over 47,000 nights of stay to our needy neighbors in Kearney, Hastings and Grand Island! The new equipment will stand up to the extensive cleaning procedures required here at the shelter and should serve us for many years to come! Our old beds are worn out, and desperately need to be replaced at each location – let us know if you can help! Call Linda at 402-462-6460 if you can help!
Thank you Kearney!
Kearney’s annual Give Where You Live 2020 Giving Day was amazing! The Kearney community continues to be a gracious and generous supporter of Crossroads Mission Avenue and has helped us raise over $16,000 to exceed our goals for the Give Where You Live 2020 event! Many needy in Kearney will be helped through your generosity, and we are very grateful!
Divvy-Up helps fill-up our sock supply!
Divvy-Up sent Crossroads Mission Avenue another bountiful stack of comfy socks to fill-up goody bags for our guests! New Crossroads’ guests are given a goody bag of necessary hygiene items, along with a new pair of socks from Divvy-Up. The socks are soft and cozy, and help keep our guests’ feet toasty and healthy! Thank you Divvy-Up!!
