Critical Needs

Crossroads Mission Avenue is made possible by caring people like you!

Please take a look at our critical needs list and consider making a donation to help us help others. Donations may be brought directly to the front door of each building. OR make it even easier by ordering on Amazon or another online retailer, and have it delivered right to the Crossroads Mission of your choice – Hastings, Grand Island or Kearney! Check out Amazon Smile to find out how you can make your donation go even further!

Crossroads Mission Avenue shelters need to plan for our community Thanksgiving meal now, so here’s the scoop:

  • We need food donations: turkeys, boxed stuffing, potatoes, butter, canned green beans, mushroom soup, crispy fried onions, poultry gravy mix, rolls, pies and whipped cream. Please bring food donations to the shelter nearest you.
  • We will need volunteers to prepare food, serve food and clean up! Fill out a Volunteer Application (for individuals) or a Group Volunteer Application and email it directly to if you or your group would like to volunteer for a time slot on Thanksgiving Day.
  • THANK YOU and May God bless you richly as you help us help others!

Kevin’s Story
“I don’t know where I’d be today without Crossroads”
With a history of substance abuse, when Kevin lost his housing situation in the middle of winter, he had nowhere else to turn. So he decided to give Crossroads Mission Avenue a try. Things turned out better than he could’ve imagined! Today, Kevin is clean, responsible and excited about the path he’s on. It’s a road to better things, compared to the road to ruin he once walked. “I don’t know where I’d be today without Crossroads,” he says. “I’m pretty sure I would have ended up going down that bad road and I wouldn’t get back again. Crossroads has really made a difference in my life.” Kevin’s hopes for the future include getting closer to God, staying sober, and serving those who are in need. If he could, Kevin would thank you personally for supporting the mission. “I believe in Crossroads,” he says. “There’s not much out there that gives people hope and faith, but Crossroads has given me all that.”
