Serving Buffalo County since 2012, Crossroads Mission Avenue continues to carry out our mission to bring glory to God through the helping of people! Backed by 43 years of experience, and as the largest provider of homeless services in the region, Crossroads will serve over 250 men, women, and families at our Kearney location this year. Our goal through Kearney Give Where You Live is to raise $55,000 for our 4-Phase Recovery Program, and every dollar given will stay right here in Buffalo County to provide homeless services when individuals need us most!

Crossroads continues to meet the needs of the homeless in Kearney, with comprehensive care in a positive, nurturing, and educational environment. Services include safe shelter, hot meals, life skills classes, medication management, and personalized case management. These services, along with our 4-Phase Recovery Program, equip our guests for successful living after their time at Crossroads and help prevent a return to homelessness. Last year, 80% of Kearney guests who reported mental health needs received support and referrals at the Mission. Nearly all guests (92%) attended our Personal Resilience Classes, where 115 individuals learned how to make a budget and plan for their financial future. For the 18% of Crossroads guests who came to us for a short-term emergency stay, Crossroads provided a valuable safety net for our community. And 50% of guests were able to exit to a permanent housing situation!

In 2025, Kearney Crossroads provided 21,647 nights of safe shelter and 65,568 nutritious meals for our neighbors in need. We also provided 1,446 food boxes to families facing food insecurity, and $36,082 worth of clothing and household goods free of charge through our Mission Avenue Thrift Community Needs Voucher program. Crossroads does not receive government funding and relies on the generosity of private donors to keep our doors open. Your support through Kearney Give Where You Live will allow the Mission to continue to step in with vital homeless services when our struggling neighbors are in crisis!

Crossroads provides protection and safety as people aim for higher goals and grow emotionally, physically, spiritually, and vocationally. [The guests] have the tools to deal with temptations for when they go back out into the community. They leave this place with more confidence, connection with the community, and knowledge of the resources available. – Adrian, Pastor at Kearney eFree Church
