Assistant Thrift Store Manager – Hastings

Crossroads Mission Avenue is a local non- profit whose primary mission is to offer shelter to the homeless. Our Mission statement is Bringing glory to God through the helping of people! Our Mission Avenue Thrift stores serve a vital role in our ministry.  Crossroads Mission Avenue Thrift in Hastings, is currently seeking a motivated, organized and compassionate individual to fill the full-time position of Assistant Thrift Store Manager.

The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to diffuse conflict, maintain composure, and always treat Crossroads’ guests and customers with dignity and respect.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and record information accurately.
  • Oversee all sales floor and stock room operations.
  • Supervise staff and volunteers.
  • Assist all customers and potential customers in a Christ-like manner.
  • Monitor that all donations are sorted in a timely manner and inventoried as in-kind donations or recycled in our recycling program.
  • Present a positive and compassionate willingness to assist guests, customers, donors and employees.

Part-Time Receptionist – Kearney

We are currently seeking a part-time Receptionist for our Kearney location!

Help us fulfill a bigger purpose by serving others – come join our team! This part-time position will work evenings and weekends, up to 32 hours per week.  Receptionist responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:         

  • Securing donations.
  • Data entry.
  • Become proficient in our database networking and check in/ out guests as needed. 
  • Answer phone and send out detailed messages accordingly.
  • Possess great communication skills and must be a team player.
  • Be flexible with scheduling. This would include working weekends, day shift and evening shift.  Up to 32 hours per week. 
  • Have a compassionate heart for the homeless and be able to follow all rules and policies. 
  • Be teachable and willing to learn all aspects of job. 

Shift differential wage available for some shifts.

Maintenance Personnel – Kearney

We are currently seeking applicants for Maintenance Personnel on our Kearney campus!  This is a full-time position.

Help us fulfill a bigger purpose by serving others – come join our team! We are looking for a motivated, organized individual.  This full-time Kearney position is for a 40 hour work week, and includes the following qualifications and responsibilities:         

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, and a clean motor vehicle record.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must have a heart of compassion and desire to work with men and women who are in a homeless situation.
  • Duties may include: 
    • general maintenance and repairs around the mission
    • pickup and deliveries of donations
    • general groundskeeping
    • general janitorial duties
  • Construction experience is a plus.
