Positive REstart Program
Taking the opportunity to REstart their lives, our guests attend 8 weeks of life skills classes, give back two hours of service to our community each day, build their character, and develop a firm foundation on which to build self-sufficiency. This structured classroom environment provides stability and allows the guests to acclimate themselves to the positive, nurturing, educational environment at the Crossroads Center. "The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9
Guests work with many different employment agencies in the community to find a job that matches their abilities and skill level. Once a guest has obtained a job, they must work at this job for one month before entering Phase 3. "All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty."Proverbs 14;32
Employment & Finance
The guests must maintain their employment; pay off their debt(s), and save $1,000. The Program Director helps them develop a personalized budgeting program, urging them to make wise decisions with their money. This phase has no time limit, and we encourage them to begin searching for housing with the help of local agencies.
Guests are required to take on a leadership role in the Crossroads Center, pass regular evaluations, maintain employment, and continue to pay back their debt(s). Guests are also required to work diligently to secure appropriate housing. The Program Director continues to evaluate their progress toward gaining self-sufficiency, making sure that proper support systems are in place to assist the guest once they have graduated from Phase 4. "They will no longer hunger and thirst, nor will desert heat or sun beat upon them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water." Isaiah 49:10
