Our History

Crossroads Center is started by First Baptist Church in Hastings as a Soup Kitchen with one sleeping bed. Hot meals are provided by church members.
Crossroads Center becomes a private corporation and expands to meet the needs of more people, with a 33-bed capacity.
Crossroads Center moves into new facility that accommodates 85 guests.
Guests exceed our capacity in December, prompting an expansion of new wing.
Average stay of guests exceeds 60 days for the first time. Record number of 596 guests stay at Crossroads, including 88 adults and 109 children in families.
Crossroads expands its mission and vision to the Kearney campus.
Opened our doors in Kearney 2/1/12 to serve 27 individuals.
January 2013: Increased capacity in Kearney to serve 42 individuals.
Phase 2: Feb 9 Banquet: Kearney Thrift Store Ground Breaking announced. December: Grand Opening Mission Avenue Thrift, Kearney. December 15: FHLB $750,000 Grant Awarded for Kearney Transitional Housing Project. Record number of 726 guests stay at Crossroads Center, with an average of 135 guests per day. Average length of stay is 68 days.
Feb 8: Purchase of Just for Ladies property and business, expanding Kearney campus to 5 Acres.
